Welcome to Mayordome (accessible at mayordome.com). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, process, and protect your personal data when you use our AI-powered visual carousel editor and related services (the “Service”).

Welcome! This policy sets out how Mayordome collects and uses the information you provide when using our app to create social media carousels. We care about your privacy and only collect what is necessary to run the Service.

We process personal data in accordance with applicable legal provisions, including the Mexican Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties, and for our users in Europe, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Information We Collect

(a) Information you provide directly

When you register for a Mayordome account using our authentication provider (Clerk), we collect your email address, name, and profile picture (if using Google, Apple, or LinkedIn OAuth). We also collect the content you provide in the app, such as the topic prompts you type for AI generation, and the text, images, and layers you add to your carousel designs (“User Content”).

(b) Payment Information

If you purchase credit packages, payments are processed directly by our secure third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not store or collect your credit card details on our servers. We only receive billing status and credit purchase information.

(c) Information collected automatically

We collect standard operational data to help us improve the Service, such as log data, IP addresses, browser types, and how you interact with our templates and editor tools.

We collect basic account details, the content you create (like prompts and slides), and basic usage data. If you purchase credits, Stripe handles your credit card securely.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • Providing the Service: To operate the canvas editor, process AI generation requests, save your projects to our database (Supabase), and export your PNG images.
  • AI Generation: To generate slide text, your topic prompts are processed by our backend and sent to our AI providers (OpenRouter or OpenAI).
  • Account Management: To track your remaining lifetime free credits (50 free credits per user) and manage your purchased credit balance.
  • Communication: To send you necessary emails regarding your account, purchases, and technical notices.
We use your data to make the app work: managing your projects, generating text via AI, keeping track of your credits, and saving your carousels.

4. Sharing with Third-Party Processors

To run Mayordome efficiently, we rely on trusted third-party service providers. We only share the minimum data necessary for them to perform their functions:

  • Clerk: Manages user authentication and account security (supports Google, Apple, and LinkedIn sign-in).
  • Stripe: Handles all payment processing and credit purchases.
  • Supabase (PostgreSQL): Securely hosts our database, storing your account references, credits, and project document JSON data.
  • Vercel: Hosts our application and processes serverless API requests.
  • OpenRouter / OpenAI: Used to generate AI content from your prompts. OpenAI does not use data submitted via its API to train its models.
We don't sell your data. We only share data with strict, secure infrastructure partners (like Stripe for payments and Supabase for databases) to make our app function.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your projects and carousels are stored as long as you maintain an active account.

  • Trash Auto-Purge: If you delete a project, it is moved to a “Trash” state (soft-delete). We automatically and permanently purge trashed projects after 7 days.
  • Account Deletion: If you delete your account, we will delete your profile data and projects from our active databases.
You can delete your projects at any time. When you put a project in the trash, we permanently delete it 7 days later.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location (such as the EU or Mexico), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Object to or restrict our processing of your data.
  • Export your data in a structured format.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies and local storage to ensure the app functions properly. We use authentication cookies via Clerk to keep you logged in, and we collect basic analytics data to improve the Service.
